Carriers which fly from the UK include British Airways, Fly Zoom and Air Canada. NB BEWARE! Check the luggage allowance before you book, bearing in mind that ski / board gear alone can weight up to 15 kgs. Charges for excess luggage can be extreme, with some carriers charging high fees per kilo extra. Remember that ski / board gear alone can weight around 15 kgs.
If you are planning to apply to Whistler ski / board school after you have finished the Peakleaders course, and you are a British citizen, you must make sure that you get a Canadian work visa as early as possible. There are limited numbers available and are done on a first come, first served basis.
If you would like to work in Canada after the Christmas camp, you must obtain a work visa before you leave the UK. Apply well in advance of departure (as early as January) to ensure your success through the BUNAC Work Canada scheme. It is a relatively easy process with work visas coming under 2 categories: student and non – student. For more info go to bunac.org.uk
Once you have this arranged, employment is then a legal option with Intrawest ski school upon selection and successfully passing your Level 1 (and 2) qualification. To increase your chances of employment, please call us or talk to your course leader.
