Peak Leaders Scotland Mountain Bike Technical Leader Course

Become a Technical Mountain Bike Leader in the amazing Cairngorm Mountain Range. This 6 week intensive course provides everything you need to become fully qualified and ready to work in the Mountain Bike industry!

Why choose this course?

Peak Leaders latest Mountain Bike Course is our Scotland course, new for 2010! Using a similar format to our Verbier Mountain Bike Technical Leader Course we are bringing the program home to the UK! Our Scotland Mountain Bike Technical Leader Course will give you all the training and skills you need to complete both the CTC Trail Mountain Bike Leader Award and Technical Mountain Bike Leader Award.

At the start of the course, you’ll be straight into the CTC Trail Mountain Bike Leader Award, (formerly OTC Level 1) with a CTC Tutor. The Trail Leader Award introduces guiding concepts and skills which will be developed throughout the camp and continued in the Technical Leader Award. For the next weeks you will be under the expert guidance of our Peak Leaders course leader who will improve your riding and knowledge at different locations around Scotland including some epic days out in the mountains! You’ll gain some real guiding experience, leading groups around Rothiemurcus Forest’s extensive trail network. Do a 1st Aid Course and Mtb maintenance and suspension clinics. You can also do the Institute of Leadership and Management NVQ Level 4 Award in Leadership, before finishing with the CTC Technical Leader Award (formerly OTC Level 2) in the last week. Leaving you fully prepared for a career in mountain biking!

Who is the Scotland Technical Mountain Bike Leader Course for?

Peak Leaders Mountain Bike Instructor Courses are designed for people who love mountain biking and would like to make a career out of it, working in the travel/leisure industry. We recommend that before embarking on the Mountain Bike Technical Leader Course you are confident on a mountain bike. You must be comfortable on single track and have started to tackle steeper sections and roots or rocks to get the most out of the Course. Using our structured training programme, our expert instructors will help you to develop your skills throughout the Course and your skills and confidence will improve with each day! The Trail Leader Award Course will equip you to guide beginners on gentle terrain and give you the core guiding skills that you will develop for the Technical Leader Award. This Award focuses more on guiding on technical terrain in more remote locations and improving techniques, as well as progressing your coaching ability to get the best out of your clients.

Being based in Scotland not only means that you’ll be doing your course in the only country ever to be awarded the Global Superstar Award two years in a row by the International Mountain Bike Association. It also means that you won’t have to commit to spending a long period of time out of the country, if you need to go home for a weekend in the middle of the course then you can!
