Whistler Mountain Bike Coaches Camp Week 5 Blog
Well the course has sadly come to an end. 5 weeks is a pretty special amount of time to spend riding and training in Whistler, but it never feels like long enough!
Through this week we had some assessment days for riding and teaching. Well done to everyone, it’s satisfying and just incredible to see how far everyone’s riding, teaching skills and knowledge has progress throughout the course. Nice one!
A highlight for the course has come on our last day of riding on an incredible run from the top of Whistlers Alpine and down the Top Of The World and then into the backcounty run called Kyber Pass. This flowy, rooty trail is hard to beat and heads way out into some amazing forest with a long consistent descent. “The best biking I’ve ever done” was the claim from many of the group. Amazing!
We had a final dinner at a local Korean/Japanese restaurant to celebrate an amazing day and amazing course. Tom happened to also have his birthday well timed to co-incide with this. Happy birthday Tom!
Thanks to the crew for great company for 5 weeks. I know a lot of you are planning to come back next year to work as instructors in this amazing place, and the rest of you will be back for a biking holiday at the least! Happy Shredding!
