Saas Fee training and accommodation packages
SAAS FEE
ACCOMMODATION AND TRAINING PACKAGES
Saas Fee gives you a head start on almost every other GAP course out there – by training in the Autumn on the amazing glacier above Saas Fee, you not only get your boots on when most other courses are months away from starting, but you also get the chance to teach for the whole Northern Hemisphere winter.
So you can start applying for jobs straight away. In fact, when you book you’ll get access to our Members’ Area employment section with our partner ski schools happy to take applications from Peak Leaders Trainees before your course even starts…).
As with all our courses, you are always in the best hands – our coaching team is hugely experienced with a combination of BASI Trainers (examiners) and top qualified BASI Level 4 coaches putting you through your paces on the hill.
The coaches are also your mentors on the course – helping you apply for jobs and create the best impression when you do. After all they’ve been in the industry for years and they know the best way to apply for ski school jobs.
Of course, in Switzerland getting a job relies on getting a work permit. So your nationality is a big factor in this – find blogs on the subject here.
Meanwhile the accommodation is at the Park Hotel, where you’ll be looked after by the legendary Patrick and his amazing team. We’ve been staying with the Park Hotel for years and they are brilliant at looking after every single member of the course.

Saas Fee is a brilliant pre-season resort – one that is so good you’ll be rubbing shoulders with national team racers as they prepare for the coming World Cup.
And that means our coaches can really put you through your paces on the hero snow up on the glacier. Our expert team has created a coaching package that helps you get the maximum development in your skiing and understanding, which means you’re skiing at your very best when you start your exams.
So you’ll get the same great coaching package with 230 hours of coaching on snow for the full course, including freestyle sessions with a specialist coach, GS training, off-piste coaching as well as weekly video feedback, a first-aid course and plenty more…
THE TRAINING OVERVIEW
⇨ THE COURSE SCHEDULES ⇦
WHAT’S THE AVERAGE WEEK LIKE?
In Saas Fee we have a huge variety of training, and some weeks will also involve BASI exams or shadowing the coaches on the hill. So no two weeks are the same.
But to give you an idea of what’s involved here’s a sample week to give you a flavour of what happens on a week during the course. You can see the structure, the content and what the after skiing activities are – as well as when you get to free-ski…
WHAT’S THE COURSE SCHEDULE?
The full autumn course in Saas Fee is 8 weeks long, with the BASI Level 1 and BASI Level 2 exams taking up three weeks in total.
You can also join us for the 3 week BASI 1 package, meaning you get a two week intensive training course followed by the BASI Level 1 exam.

⇨ THE ACCOMMODATION PACKAGE ⇦
The catered package in Saas Fee is at the family run Park Hotel. Peak Leaders have been staying here for years and do an amazing job of looking after our trainees and our coaches. It’s also safe to say the team there know resort inside out – so if you ever have a question ask Patrick and his team.
We can also arrange a self-catered option if that suits you better. Some people like the flexibility especially if you are already planning to stay all season (which makes the accommodation more affordable) or if you have specific dietary requirements so you prefer to cook for yourself.
But whichever option you choose, a course in Saas Fee will always be an amazing experience in a resort that’s definitely one of the best kept secrets of the Swiss alps.
THE PARK HOTEL
We’ve been staying at the Park Hotel for years and it never disappoints. Run by the legendary Patrick and his family, they really look after our trainees and provide the perfect place to relax after a hard days skiing.
The hotel is right in the middle of town in a really quiet spot just off the main street – so everything is a stone’s throw away but you can still get plenty of peace and quiet.
You’ll get breakfast everyday and a three course evening meal five evenings a week, all served in the hotel’s restaurant. There’s also a bar in the hotel if you don’t fancy dashing through the chilly autumn air for a drink with friends.
Meanwhile the rooms are shared doubles and always clean and cosy. Most rooms also have a balcony so you can catch the last of the sunshine after training and soak in the stunning view of the mountains and glaciers.
Saas Fee is car free and everything is only short a walk away, but if you’re feeling really lazy you can get an electric taxi to take the strain and drop you at you destination.
