ABOUT OUR TEAM

The Peak Leaders team are all fully qualified.

So you’ll only be coached by the very best. In fact most of our team are also BASI Examiners.

We think that the combination of years of experience running ski instructor training courses combined with years of experience teaching skiing means we can not only make sure you have the best possible time on your course, but also have the best advice and support when it comes to getting a job in this brilliant industry.

EMMA

Verbier GAP Course ski coaches - Emma

QUALIFICATIONS

BASI Level 4 ISTD
Swiss Brevet Federal

Emma is a BASI Trainer and BASI Level 4, based in the Swiss resort of Verbier.

She’s in charge of operations and coaching for Peak Leaders and you’ll probably talk to her when you book your place.

As well as becoming a top qualified ski instructor Emma also loves being in the mountains all year round and spends her summers biking around Verbier and hiking with her dog Indie.

GUY

BASI ski instructor training courses - Guy

QUALIFICATIONS
Swiss Brevet Federal
BASI Level 3 ISIA

Guy has the top Swiss qualification, as well as the BASI Level 3. He lives in Verbier and has been teaching skiing here for nearly 20 years.

When he’s not in the office with Emma preparing our courses he will be teaching clients and trainees off-piste.

When he’s not teaching skiing he’s usually chasing round after his kids and trying to avoid walking his dog, Bruno….

JAKE

BASI ski instructor training courses - Jake

QUALIFICATIONS

Jake is a BASI Level 4 and coaches our trainees in both Saas Fee and Verbier.

But he’s not just a fully qualified ski instructor – he’s also a personal trainer and so you’ll see him when he runs a lot of the fitness sessions on the courses.

As well as skiing and exploring the backcountry, Jake wants you to know he loves long walks, “Indie time”, laughing and powder days…

TORI

Tori is a great addition to the team and brings bags of enthusiasm and professionalism.

She has a great eye for technique, so is an expert at spotting what you need to change to meet the exam criteria.

As well as being a fully qualified ski coach, she’s also a fitness coach – so you can expect to meet her in your weekly fitness sessions, too.

Murray is another of our coaches who are also BASI examiners.

He has been doing back-to-back winters in Verbier and New Zealand for years now, so if you’re tempted by a Southern Hemisphere Winter you should definitely pick his brains about getting a job…

When he’s not coaching ski instructors, Murray skippers sailing yachts around Scotland and the Mediterranean.

Rob is BASI Trainer and a massive freestyle fan.

So as well as giving trainees all the technical and teaching coaching they need to get through the exams, he will also be taking trainees into the park to learn about freestyle skiing.

But above all Rob is a great coach always keen to help every trainee develop their skiing and have fun.

Gherado has bags of instructor training experience – in fact he trained some of the Peak Leaders coaches before they became Level 4…

But despite his experience and reputation in coaching circles, his calm personality and relaxed attitude puts everyone at ease.

The perfect coach to help you take your skiing to the next level and beyond.

Will is fully qualified in the BASI system and also a BASI Trainer – so he also examines ski instructors.

He runs training in Saas Fee and Verbier (as well as appearing in quite a few photos on this site…).

When he’s not teaching or coaching instructors you can find him exploring the backcountry around Verbier – and surfing with his brothers in the summers.

Tom is fully qualified in the British and Swiss systems, as well as being a BASI examiner.

His relaxed approach to coaching is always popular with trainees and he has the knack of getting the very best out of everyone with clear and accurate technical feedback.

When he isn’t coaching you’ll find him touring with his brother Will or off on surfing and windsurfing adventures.

FLUID SKIING LTD

Sam is an experienced instructor with a knack for taking complicated concepts and making it all sound simple.

(Pretty handy when you’re getting ready for your exams…)

When he’s not coaching instructors, Sam is a fully qualified physiotherapist and, like his brothers Will and Tom, he’s a water-sports enthusiast, spending his summers out on the water.
