Morzine Ski & Snowboard Instructor Course Week 2
Here we are!!! BASI level 1 week is here. Time flies fast here in Morzine. Everyone is settling into the daily routine of skiing or snowboarding and Sunday had been very busy. Finishing first Aid course, attending first pilates session, dinner and back to the rude Lodge for meeting with the BASI Level tutors and examiners Leslie and Simon.
They set the tone straight away and there is no doubts this upcoming week will be a lot of fun but also a lot of learning and hard work on and off the slopes. First day’s comments only reinforce that. “We have learned so much, but sorry I do not have much time to chat, I need to study and practice for tomorrow!” All the trainees are very motivated and so few days before the exams the Rude Lodge seems to look little bit like a university library. There is a lot of focus and study effort to pass.
The guys are reviewing the materials, training teaching to each other and even practicing freestyle moves in the boot room. Good on you! It looks like the weather is also on our side this week and there is snow on the way. That is great news as the grassy and icy bits on our slopes desperately need new white cover. Friday is the D day and most of the day is taken by the exams. Even though there are some stumbles and errors (nervousness takes its toll) most of the team walks away with pass. Evening is the day of celebrations and we can finally head off to town for few beers with clear head and vision of our first proper day off on Saturday. Very heavy snowfall promises great conditions for the following days!
