SAAS FEE 2020 – WEEK 1: GETTING STARTED

It’s another new season and as usual we are kicking off in Saas-Fee, Switzerland. After a long and uncertain summer we are all super happy and exited to be back on skis, training more budding young ski instructor trainees.

We are already one week into the course, the new team are settled in and making fantastic progress.

Check out this cool little clip made by one of our trainees en route to Saas Fee last weekend…

We always start our ski instructor training courses with a welcome weekend. It gives the trainees chance to get to know each other, the resort and how the course is going to run.

We spent time exploring town and some of the surrounding mountain trails – here’s the new team enjoying the awesome, warm weather we had on arrival…

However, the warm weather did not hang around and within a few days the clouds rolled in and blanketed the town of Saas Fee in a very welcome layer of cold fresh snow!

Normally we have to wait a few weeks for the first of the winter storms, so we’re feeling very lucky to be skiing on such amazing winter snow already!

Up top, amongst some of the tallest peaks in Europe, Saas Fee is home to literally the best ski conditions on the planet at this time of year!

As a result we have been rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s best – skiers such as Alice Robinson of New Zealand have been showing our trainees how its done on the race courses next door to our training pistes.

After a great week of training with all the trainees making some very promising changes to their skiing, the weekend provided an opportunity to relax and unwind. Hiking up on the mountains trails or chilling in the spa are always great options and our trainees took full advantage.

After a refresh during the weekend our trainees are ready to push on into week 2.

The conditions are amazing and the forecast looks cold and sunny, so it’s sure to be a good one!
