OUR CANCELATION POLICY

WHAT HAPPENS IF COVID IMPACTS A COURSE?

There are a lot of scenarios – so what is the Peak Leaders policy?

In all situations our Terms and Conditions are the main system for dealing with issues during or before the course.

But with Covid we have additional rules that help us provide solutions and make sure you can feel reassured when you book.

Our priority is always doing the right thing by the trainee.

And if that means we bend our own ‘formal’ Terms and Conditions then we will – and we already have done in the past.

It’s important to remember that Switzerland is dealing with the pandemic very well – with generally low rates in the areas where we operate and a great uptake of vaccination.

IF RESORT CLOSES BEFORE YOU COURSE

We think this is unlikely, but if the resort was closed you would get a full refund for all the payments we have received from you, including your initial deposit.

IF RESORT CLOSES DURING YOUR COURSE

Again, we don’t see this happening – the lift company, the authorities and the Swiss Federal Council kept resorts running safely al last winter, after all.

But if Covid stopped the course midway, you would get a pro-rata refund.

IF SWISS BORDERS CLOSE BEFORE YOUR COURSE

With vaccines dealing with conventional Covid and the new variants, it’s hard to imagine Switzerland closing its borders again.

But if that happened, you would get a full refund on the payments we had received.

IF YOUR HOME NATION’S BORDERS CLOSE BEFORE YOUR COURSE

This is difficult as it covers any decision taken anywhere…

is the trickiest of the scenarios because it involves anything happening globally – and would be well outside of what we can control.

In all the previous scenarios we should be able to get refunds ourselves on your course costs – lift passes, exams and accommodation.

But if you couldn’t travel due to your home nation’s decisions, we would still get charged for these costs.

So the our Terms and Conditions would apply.

But this I when we would be looking way what the right thing was not just the framework of a normal course.

So we would simply try to get as much of your course costs refunded as possible and pass that on to you as a credit for a future course.

We can’t guarantee how much that would be – 50%, 75% or perhaps 90% or even 100% – but we would do our best to give you the credit we could.

That means if you end up completely unable to join us, then we could still help and you could still come back and do your course when things settled down.

A NOTE ON VACCINATION

The Swiss have just made COVID Certificates mandatory for public spaces like bars, restaurants and public facilities like swimming pools.

This means proof of vaccination, proof of recent infection and recovery or proof of a recent negative test (48 hours for a rapid test 72 hours for a PCR test).

So if you join a course without this it might be the case that you would have to eat separately or perhaps not be able to socialise in the same way.

Suffice to say we are vaccine-neutral in this debate. But it is very clear that vaccination facilitates a lot more activities than being unvaccinated.
