WE’VE GOT
SIX BASI TRAINERS
IN OUR TEAM

BASI examiners are called ‘Trainers’.

These are the guys who assess ski instructors.

And this season we’re very happy to have no fewer than six trainers in our coaching team.

But why does that matter and what’s so important about training with them?

Here’s an explanation of what makes them different and why you should always insist on being coached by the best.

SO WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Well, as in many different industries, the more qualified and experienced a person is, the better they are at their job.

And for us that means being better at making your skiing better.

We have always recruited coaches who we know can make a difference – ones with the combination of experience and coaching skills to make sure you always have the best possible chance of passing your exams.

And now some of our team have been ‘promoted’ to Trainer status whilst we have had some new faces join too…

Of course, all of our coaches really are brilliant – we’re not just saying that. They’re all fully qualified with the BASI 4, for a start.

But by adding more BASI examiners we are boosting the coaching team with instructors who are right at the top of their game.

Coaching from BASI examiners

KNOWING THE EXAM CRITERIA

When it’s your job to analyse skiers and see if they meet the requirements to pass an exam, it’s safe to say you have a really clear idea of the criteria.

So our coaches – whether they are examiners or not – know the criteria inside-out. But the examiners know it on an even more detailed level.

Which means they can spot something that might be an issue in an exam miles before your exam even starts.

Experienced BASI coaches

EXPERIENCE COUNTS

When you have been teaching for a long time you recognise issues faster and know the best way to explain the solutions.

That’s even more true of our coaches. They have been coaching trainees for years and that experience is a huge benefit.

They also have experience of the industry. So if you want to get your first job teaching, they have a load of ideas and answers.

BASI Level 4 coaches

THEY’RE ALSO A TALENTED BUNCH

To pass the BASI 4 you need serious skills.

And then, once you have the BASI 4, to get selected as a Trainer means you have all the teaching and skiing skills but you also have that something extra.

Talent.

A talent for skiing and a talent for communication.

That’s the x-factor that is really obvious when you ski with our coaches.

And it rubs off on you…

MAKING YOU BETTER

All this adds up to coaches who can simply make you better.

Better at skiing, better at understanding skiing and better at teaching it.

And – of course – making you better at passing your exams…

We have always recruited great coaches – coaches we trust completely – and with the current team it’s truer than ever.

Of course, not all coaching teams are qualified to the same level, but at Peak Leaders we have always believed that if we are going to offer coaching to aspirant ski instructors, they deserve the very best.
