After you finish your ski instructor course you will probably want to get your first job.

But where do you go and what will you get paid?

Well, wages are a big part of the decision when you are looking for a job. That can change a lot from country to country.

But as well as looking at which country you go to, you need to think about wages in different resorts and even in different school in that resort.

You also need to consider how many hours you will get – after all if you earn a great hourly rate but don’t get many hours you will struggle to pay your rent (and your bar tab) but sometimes picking a lower rate and getting more hours works far better.

So we’ve put together a guide to what you can earn when you get your first job teaching skiing.

HOW DO THEY COMPARE?

Of course exchange rates change all the time and the cost of living in resort will vary massively.

But to give you a better idea of how the wages compare between different countries we’ve put together the chart below, but remember just because the wage is higher doesn’t mean it’s better – the cost of accommodation might be much higher too….

WHAT ELSE SHOULD YOU CONSIDER?

We think there are six key questions to ask when you’re looking at any job:

1. What’s the hourly wage?
2. How many hours can you expect?
3. What’s the cost of accommodation?
4. What’s the cost of living there?
5. Do you have to buy your lift pass yourself?
6. What else is included in the instructor package? For example training? Or lunch?
