WANT TO DO A GAP COURSE?
YOU COULD SAVE BY GOING SELF-CATERED

If you want to train as a ski instructor there are a lot of options,
but going self-catered can make a big difference.

We offer some brilliant packages all over the world, but if you’re planning a Gap course and watching your budget then it’s important to look at options.

One of the most popular routes to doing a ski instructor training course but getting the best balance of value and experience is to book our Train-Only package and arrange your food and accommodation yourself.

This can be a brilliant option that not only keeps your costs under control but potentially allows you to book accommodation for the entire winter in your resort.

SO WHAT’S THE BENEFIT?

Quite simply you can find accommodation that fits your wallet, and also get somewhere for the entire winter – or perhaps just for the duration of your course.

Our Peak Leaders accommodation packages are always great quality places in amazingly central locations.

But if you are happy to be a bit further out of town then there are plenty of options.

In fact, on the Verbier course Le Chable is a great option, and a lot of instructors now live there to save money over the winter on their accommodation.

The gondola sits in the middle of town and goes straight up to Verbier then carries on to the mid-station – Ruinettes. So you can be on the piste just as quick as anyone who doesn’t live right by the lifts in Verbier.

It’s just over ten minutes from Verbier to Châble on the bubble, and the town is a busy working ski resort, but with a more chilled-out atmosphere than Verbier – and you pay less.

The bubble runs until 7.30 at night and busses go up and down with the last service down at at about 12.30 – and during the busy weeks the bus runs even later, but we know Peak Leaders trainees would never be up that late…

IS IT REALLY THAT MUCH OF A SAVING?

We’re confident our full package in Verbier is great value – Verbier is one of the most famous and prestigious resorts in the world and that means prices are quite high.

But if you are open to being further out of resort or in the valley you can reduce your accommodation costs by as much as 25% to 40% for the season.

So if you find somewhere you like and add in some economical shopping, the savings can really add up.

WHAT ARE THE NUMBERS?

We place a big emphasis on trainees getting jobs teaching skiing in Verbier once they finish the course. So all the numbers need to factoring in the earnings that would potentially start after 10 weeks.

As you can imagine, accommodation varies hugely for the season – you can get a shared room in Le Chable for between 3’000 chf and 4’000 chf, whilst a studio could be between 6’000 chf and 8’000 chf.

But if we look at things in GBP, it could look like this of you were thinking about doing the full season in resort and working:
